1. Who we are

Energy Contract Renewals Ltd ("ECR", "we", "us"), company number 10222453, registered office St. Stephens House, Arthur Road, Windsor, Berkshire SL4 1RU. These terms apply to use of this website and to our services as a business energy broker.

2. Our role as a broker

ECR is an independent broker, not an energy supplier. We help businesses compare and arrange commercial electricity, gas and water contracts with third-party suppliers. We do not generate, distribute or sell energy ourselves, and the contract for supply is always between you and the supplier you choose, not with ECR.

We aim to review options that are appropriate to your business's usage and requirements, but we do not guarantee to search every supplier or product in the market, and we do not guarantee that any quote will be the lowest available at any given time.

3. Commission disclosure

ECR is remunerated by commission paid to us by the energy supplier when a business enters into a contract that we have arranged. This commission is generally built into the unit rates quoted by the supplier and is standard practice across the business energy broking industry. We do not charge businesses a separate fee for obtaining a comparison or quote unless expressly agreed in writing in advance.

Because our income depends on contracts completing, we have a commercial interest in a business proceeding with a switch. We manage this by presenting the options available to us clearly and leaving the decision to you; we encourage you to ask us about commission arrangements on any specific quote if you would like more detail.

4. Instructing ECR

By asking ECR to obtain quotes or to arrange a contract on your behalf, you confirm that you are authorised to act for the business named, and that the information provided to us is accurate to the best of your knowledge. We rely on this information to obtain accurate quotes.

5. Contracts and cancellation

Once you accept a quote and a contract is agreed with a supplier, that contract is subject to the supplier's own terms, including any cooling-off period, cancellation charges and renewal terms. ECR is not a party to that contract and cannot vary its terms. We will do what we reasonably can to assist with queries about a contract we have arranged, but responsibility for performance of the supply contract rests with the supplier.

6. Website use

This website and its content are provided for general information about our services. We take reasonable care to keep information accurate and up to date but do not guarantee that pricing examples, guides or market commentary reflect current market conditions at any given moment; live pricing is always confirmed at the point of quotation.

You must not misuse this website, including by attempting to gain unauthorised access, introducing malicious code, or using automated means to scrape content without permission.

7. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, ECR is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of this website or our services, and our liability for any claim relating to a broking service is limited to the commission received in connection with the relevant contract, save where a higher liability is required by law.

If you have a complaint about our service, please see our complaints procedure, which includes details of how to escalate unresolved complaints to the Energy Ombudsman if your business qualifies as a microbusiness.

9. Data protection

Our use of personal data is set out in our privacy policy.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page applies to your use of the website and services from that date.
