We work as a broker between businesses and energy suppliers. That means we review available commercial contracts on a business's behalf, explain the options in plain English, and handle the paperwork needed to move to a new contract if one is chosen. We are paid commission by suppliers when a contract completes through us — there is more detail on how that works in our terms and conditions.
Business energy is bought differently to domestic energy: contracts are usually fixed-term, priced against wholesale market conditions on the day, and can roll onto expensive out-of-contract rates if nothing is arranged before expiry. That is the problem ECR exists to help with.
