Common reasons customers get in touch
If your query doesn't fit neatly into one of these, get in touch anyway — we'll point you the right way.
Supplier queries
We help chase and interpret supplier correspondence.
Billing questions
Understand what a commercial bill is actually charging for.
Contract information
Confirm what has been agreed, and when it ends.
Renewal planning
Diarise renewal windows well ahead of expiry.
Meter queries
Readings, meter details and supply identifiers.
Multi-site support
Keep several sites organised in one place.
Documents & readings
Sending a meter reading or a document
If a supplier has asked you for a reading, or you've received a letter you're not sure about, send it to us rather than guessing.
Email a photo of your meter, or the document in question, to hello@energycontractrenewals.co.uk along with your business name and the site address it relates to.
For urgent supplier correspondence — such as a warning of supply disconnection or a final notice — call us directly on 020 3631 5541 rather than emailing, so it can be actioned the same day.
Response times
What to expect once you've been in touch
Phone
Answered directly during office hours by a member of the team.
We aim to respond within one working day for most queries.
Complex or supplier-side queries
Some issues depend on a supplier's own response time, which we'll flag if it applies.
Questions
Support questions, answered
What is an MPRN?+
A Meter Point Reference Number — sometimes called an M number — is the unique identifier for a gas supply point. It is usually 6 to 10 digits and appears on your gas bill.
What is a deemed contract?+
A deemed contract applies when a business is taking supply without an agreed contract — for example after moving into new premises or after a fixed term ends. Deemed rates are set by the supplier and are typically higher than contracted rates, so they are worth moving off promptly.
Can I switch business energy supplier?+
Yes, provided you are within your contract's switching window, or are out of contract or on deemed rates. Any outstanding balance normally needs to be settled and the supply must not be subject to an objection. We check the position before anything is agreed.
What happens when my contract expires?+
If nothing is agreed, supply usually continues on the supplier's out-of-contract or deemed rates rather than stopping. That is generally the most expensive way to buy energy, which is why we plan renewals in advance.
